
Morocco’s tourism sector enjoyed a record year in 2023.There were 12.3 million visitors between January and October. These figures, released by the Ministry of Tourism, demonstrate the positive momentum of the industry despite the successive crises of recent years.
In October alone, the number of tourist arrivals was up 3% on October 2022, or 1.2 million visitors.
The sector’s resilience in the face of successive crises
This growth testifies to the resilience of Moroccan tourism, which continues to attract more and more visitors. All this despite the global economic and health turbulence. The month of September 2023 recorded over 960,000 tourists, underlining the sector’s ability to constantly reinvent itself. It manages to adapt to changing demands. In the face of crises, Morocco has been able to promote new tourism experiences. The Kingdom offers ecotourism and cultural tourism to diversify its customer base.
Initiatives to support tourism growth
These good results are due to the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism to support the industry. An ambitious recovery plan has been put in place, involving substantial investment in visitor infrastructure and a target of 17.5 million visitors by 2026. New tourism products have also been developed to enrich the Moroccan offer.
